Non-Profit Spotlight – HomeAhead
Recently I was asked to join the Board of Directors for HomeAhead and wanted to take a moment to share with you what they do.
HomeAhead is a local nonprofit working to end furniture poverty in Boulder County. When individuals and families move into housing after experiencing homelessness, they often do so with nothing. HomeAhead steps in to provide the essentials—beds, tables, chairs, and more—transforming empty rooms into livable homes.
With locations in Boulder and Longmont, HomeAhead collects donated furniture and redistributes it to those in need, in partnership with local case managers. To help fund its mission, the organization also offers a mission-driven clear-out service—similar to junk removal—which allows them to pick up almost any household items. Reusable furnishings go to clients; the rest are recycled, donated elsewhere, or responsibly disposed of.
How to Help:
- Volunteer (especially to help move furniture)
- Donate gently used furnishings
- Make a financial gift
- Hire HomeAhead for your next clear-out or junk removal.
Every bit of support helps furnish homes—and futures. Learn more at www.homeahead.org
Thank You Guys Who Give!
At the last Guys Who Give event I was selected to pitch HomeAhead to receive their quarterly donation. Out of three very worthy Boulder County non-profits, HomeAhead was selected to receive our donation. HomeAhead should receive over $10,000 as a result!
